3sixteen Creates a Custom Patchwork Type 3s Denim Jacket for The Class Room
The iconic menswear piece gets a hand-stitched patchwork treatment.
NYC-based label 3sixteen has created a custom Type 3s denim jacket for Houston-based retailer The Class Room‘s fifth anniversary. This special edition of the iconic jacket features patchwork detailing inspired by Japanese design and is constructed of lightweight 101x denim – a 12oz custom woven denim from Kuroki Mills in Okayama, Japan. True to 3sixteen’s commitment to quality workmanship, the jacket panels are cut in San Francisco, shipped to New York for assembling by 3sixteen’s Wesley Scott, and then shipped back to the San Francisco factory for finishing touches. The result of this meticulous process and handmade treatment is that no two jackets are alike. However, all of the Type 3s signature details are maintained, such as its zigzag stitching underneath the collar, custom gunmetal shanks and rivets, selvedge line in placket, and Tanner Goods leather patch in the back.
The Class Room x 3sixteen Patchwork Type 3s Denim Jacket is limited to 20 pieces for a retail price of $550 USD. They will be available on February 18 in-store and at The Class Room’s online shop at 12 p.m. EST.
