Netflix's 'The Polka King' Stars Jack Black as a Rip-Off Artist in New Trailer
Black is the “King of Pennsylvania Polka.”
Netflix has released the trailer for The Polka King, which stars Jack Black as Jan Lewan, a Polish immigrant who became the “King of Pennsylvania Polka.” Based on a true story, the story focuses on Lewan, a believer in the American Dream who worked hard and dreamed bigger. But his giant aspirations would result in consequences.
The film is co-written and directed by Maya Forbes as well as Wally Wolodarsky and mixes comedy with tragedy, displaying the world’s only known Polka Ponzi scheme. The Polka King co-stars Jenny Slate, Jason Schwartzman, Jacki Weaver, J.B. Smoove and Willie Garson. Check out the trailer above and look out for its debut on the streaming service on January 12.
