Art Basel Miami 2017 ushered in art, design and fashion enthusiasts from all corners of the world to Miami’s Design District for a week of installations, gallery shows, parties and workshops. One particularly buzzworthy event was Angelo Baque‘s Social Studies workshop, which featured displays and contributions from Virgil Abloh, Heron Preston, Union Los Angeles‘ Chris Biggs, Shaniqwa Jarvis, Awake NY, Some Ware, 032c, No Vacancy Inn and more.
The Social Studies project was established to offer a series of workshops curated for youth and aimed towards providing skills and guidance in producing bespoke creations. This event marks the second major installation led by Baque Creative (the first project was Virgil and Nike’s “The Ten” “OFF CAMPUS” event) and it featured logo and collage tee silkscreen print classes where guests could create their own T-shirt design and have it signed by the likes of Virgil Abloh, Heron Preston and other masters of the industry.

All of the T-shirt proceeds will go to The Education Fund, which provides support for innovation in public education.
