What Went Down at the Social Status x Air Jordan 1 "Rust Pink" & "Igloo" Yacht Pop-Up Release
Last minute changes brought the release to the high seas.
During last week’s Art Basel Miami festivities, Social Status and Jordan Brand teamed up for a very special release of the hyped Air Jordan 1 “Rust Pink” and “Igloo.” Initially, the shoes and a commemorative hoodie were to launch at a pop-up held at The Mondrian South Beach hotel, but the commotion caused by the lineup of anxious sneakerheads forced hotel executives to cancel the launch. Scrambling to find a new venue, quick decisions moved the pop-up to the hull of a 120-foot yacht docked at Island Green Marina. Within hours of blasting the location on social media, the sought after shoes and altered commemorative address hoodies were sold out at the unusual yacht pop-up.
