Pokémon Fans Are Unhappy Danny DeVito Will Not Be Playing Detective Pikachu
In upcoming live-action Pokémon film.
After news broke that Ryan Reynolds will play Detective Pikachu in the upcoming live-action Pokémon film, fans quickly took to social media to voice their opinion on the casting. Despite reactions being mostly positive a large number of fans are now voicing their disappointment that Danny DeVito will not be playing Detective Pikachu. When the live-action Pokémon film was originally greenlit many noted that DeVito’s voice and cadence would be perfect for playing the inquisitive character but it seems the production company behind the movie does not agree. With filming set to take place in London during mid-January of next year, we will have to wait and see if Reynolds can win fans over with his motion-capture acting. Take a look at some of the fan outrage below and let us know what you think.
In other news, learn more about the permanent Pokémon Cafe and DX Pokémon set to open in Tokyo next year.
Look, we all love Ryan Reynolds, but is it too early to start a GoFundMe to have Danny DeVito record all of Pikachu’s lines as an alt voice track?
