Having sadly passed away back in November at the age of 77, legendary Christian Dior-trained designer Azzedine Alaïa is now set to get his own retrospective exhibition with the 60 pieces due to show selected by Alaïa himself before his death.

Titled Azzedine Alaïa: The Couturier, the exhibition — which is set to open in May 2018 at London Design Museum — will highlight the designer’s contribution to fashion, serving as an explanation of how he earned the title ”King of Cling,” having pioneered the introduction of leggings, bodysuits and body-enhancing dresses into mainstream fashion.

Azzedine Alaïa: The Couturier runs from May 10 to October 7 2018 at The Design Museum London. Elsewhere in other exhibition news, Kanye collaborator Cali Thornhill-DeWitt has opened his first ever solo show.
