The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Was a Full On Spectacle With Help From Rousteing, Miguel and More
Wings and bling.
It’s that time of year again: 55 models hit the runway for the massive Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, with plenty of showmanship and live music. Though the event is generally regarded as more of a spectacle than a fashion show, this year featured contributions from Balmain‘s Creative Director Olivier Rousteing.
With 88 distinct runway looks, and four musicians — Miguel, Jane Zhang, Harry Styles and Leslie Odom Junior — there was plenty for guests at Shanghai’s Mercedes-Benz arena to sink their teeth into. The models — who boast a combined 143 million Instagram followers — included Candice Swanepoel, Grace Bol, Elsa Hosk and Lais Riberio. Hosk modeled an outfit with over 250,000 Swarovski crystals, while Riberio displayed the Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra, retailing at a staggering $2 million USD. The show was divided into a variety of sections, which included “Goddesses,” “Nomadic Adventure,” “Porcelain Angel,” and the “Punk Angel” portion, which featured 23 designs executed in coordination with Rousteing.
Get an eyeful of some looks above. What are your thoughts on the show? Was the move to China the right one? Victoria’s Secret wasn’t the only brand hitting the East this week, as Vetements briefly set up shop in Hong Kong.
