The iPhone X Is Apple's Most Breakable Smartphone Ever

One drop renders facial recognition useless.

Apple boasts that the iPhone X has the most durable glass on a smartphone, but it would appear its deep strengthening layers can’t withstand a single drop on concrete. SquareTrade, a company that provides extended warranties for electronic devices, has conducted a series of breakability tests, or drop tests, on the smart device, resulting in a shattered glass back and front screen that makes the unit “the most breakable iPhone ever,” according to ST.

The glass shattered once it dropped on its front and back from six feet; the display also began to malfunction, rendering facial recognition useless. All of which makes Samsung’s Apple-trolling ad that much more relevant.

For those of you who already received an iPhone X, tell us how you plan on protecting its fragile shell below.
