A Look Inside Vitsoe's New UK Headquarters
A customizable warehouse.

Britain’s Vitsœ has opened its new UK headquarters. The company, known for its Dieter Rams-designed furniture, has unveiled a space crafted by its in-house design team, with a focus on open layouts and forward-thinking design.
The structure is the UK’s first to be built with a newly developed beech laminate-veneer, which ties into Vitsœ’s use of European beechwood since its inception in 1959. The beech can be seen throughout the structure, from its high, arched roof to the spaced-out walls. Much like the brand’s own shelving units, the building was built from a kit of parts, meaning that it can be restructured and customized as deemed necessary in the future. Designers created natural lighting and ventilation in the space, and tapped landscape designer Kim Wilkie to ensure that the outside of the building reflected the environment of Vitsœ’s new Midlands location.
Royal Leamington Spa was selected as the headquarters’ locale based on its location in the company’s supply chain, university proximity, and refined local architecture. For more relevant design news, limited-edition Barbara Kruger MetroCards are coming to New York City subway stations soon.
