After an official announcement of the Supreme x Akira collaboration, we are now treated to an accompanying video that will tide us over until the official release. Creator Katsuhiro Otomo breaks down how the iconic series came to life and reveals how his publisher was initially reluctant with the idea of a sci-fi piece. Fortunately, it received a good response which then allowed Otomo to develop it further and the series has since cemented itself as one of the greatest manga projects of all time.
The Supreme x Akira collection will be available at Supreme’s online store and physical locations in New York, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, London and Paris on November 2. Japan will see a November 4 release.
