Ralph Lauren's $3,000 USD Sweater Features a Dragon Motif
Home-spun wool and cashmere from the designer’s Purple Label.

Luxurious knitwear has been a cornerstone of the Ralph Lauren brand since its inception. For Fall/Winter 2017, the designer ups the ante, dropping a dragon-motif sweater knitted from sumptuous fabrics.
Ralph Lauren Purple Label hosts the brand’s most premium offerings, and this sweater is very much in line with its modus operandi. Dyed a rich green, the turtleneck sweater is knitted from a blend of home-spun wool and cashmere. Normally, this wouldn’t distinguish the garment from the dozens of other opulent sweaters on the market, but this particular item features raised dragon imagery, elevating a merely expensive sweater to one an immediately recognizable one.
Naturally, the price tag is exorbitant — head to MR PORTER if you have a spare $3,000 USD laying around. For those of us who want attractive sweaters, but can’t afford to spend our rent several times over, United Colors of Benetton has linked up with ADAM ET ROPÉ on a line of colorful mohair options.
