Mardou&Dean Goes Maximalist in Its Summer 2018 Collection
Wearable art from the Oslo label.
With boundary-pushing fashion from brands like Balenciaga and Jacquemus making waves in the fashion industry, younger labels continue to step up their game to stay ahead of the pack. Mardou&Dean’s adventurous Spring/Summer 2018 line pushes the envelope further yet, blending streetwear, couture and high fashion.
Founded by Patrik Rosenfors and creative director Ingrid Bredholt, Mardou&Dean has created an expansive collection marked by off-kilter proportions and unusual textiles. Notably, the label offers a breadth of pant cuts complementing and contrasting with the wide variety of tops. Mixed-material, metallic pajama shirts are layered over drop-crotch leather pants, a printed long sleeve is styled over loose, high-waisted jeans, and a pair of tie-dyed, flared pants are paired with a slim, salmon-colored sweater. Opposite the adventurous styling, individual understated pieces include an oversized floral shirt and undecorated bucket hats.
