Eric Koston Reveals Life-Changing Nike Deal While 'Sneaker Shopping'
Alongside his favorite sneakers to skate in.
Eric Koston is the next celebrity guest to be featured in Sneaker Shopping. In the latest episode, the legendary skateboarder discussed his obsession with the Air Jordan 1, his favorite shoes to skate in, sneaker collaborations, as well as his humongous deal with Nike. Koston expressed that the athletic brand invited him to its Beaverton, Oregon headquarters where employees donned potential, collaborative apparel featuring Nike and Koston co-branding. “That was a pretty good hard sell right there,” Koston said in the clip.
As for his AJ1 obsession, the LA pro skater said that it stems from his role models having worn the basketball sneaker multiple times while shredding. “I started skating around 1986 and all of my heroes –
Mark Gonzales, Lance Mountain, Neil Blender, Tony Hawk, and Steve Caballero, who’s got the ultimate signature shoe for decades — skated in the Air Jordan 1. They all had different versions.”
