Adam Savage Checks out the 'Blade Runner 2049' Blaster
A behind-the-scenes look at the just-released film.
In the past, special effects artist, industrial designer and television personality Adam Savage has examined the robot skeleton featured in Ghost in the Shell, built a custom Nerf gun and other interesting visual breakdowns of props and unique movie items. A huge fan of Blade Runner, Savage now steps into the iconic story’s world for a rundown of the Blade Runner 2049 blaster.
With a “love for Blade Runner blasters that borders on obsession,” Adam Savage inspects the fictional weapon, talks with prop expert Doug Harlocker and demos several iterations of the new gun-style. Visiting the set of Blade Runner 2049 during its 2016 production, Savage gives viewers an in-depth look at the shoot’s props department and more; a replica of Deckard’s pistol is even showcased.
