Thermal-resistant to the max.
Data storage company Western Digital is creating a series of SanDisk memory cards that can stand up to extreme temperatures. From blazing hot to freezing, there’s no stopping these new industrial SD cards that can work for long hours at temperatures bettween -13°F and 185°F. An Automotive SD purposely made for cars is also included in the selection along with the three industrial variants: Industrial SD, Industrial microSD and Industrial XI for more common uses such as capturing photos.
As far as the hardware specs go, the cards have write speeds at around 80MB/s and 50MB/s. Not to mention, they also have a built-in Health Status Monitor that enables “manufacturers to check in on card usage and performance levels,” as per Engadget.
Samples of the Industrial cards have been given to select manufacturers worldwide. Stay tuned for more details and let us know your thoughts on these super thermal-resistant memory cards.
