New Details for the Second Season of Netflix's 'Stranger Things' Have Just Surfaced
Spoiler alert.

Not long ago, Netflix revealed a handful of new cast members who will join the Stranger Things cast for season two. This time around, we are given fresh plot details for the forthcoming installment — you can all blame the alleged spoilers on the show’s executive producer, Shawn Levy, as well as Sheriff Jim Hopper, played by actor David Harbour.
As part of a panel during the Fan2Sea Comic-Con cruise, the sheriff revealed a slew of narrative events that will seemingly emerge in the forthcoming installment. Read on to learn about what may just go down in season two.
The story will continue a year after the first installment:
It’s a year later in the story, so there are several things that happened last year, like Will has come back.
Not to mention, several locals apparently know about the “upside down world”:
There are certain people in the town that know what happened, and then certain people that don’t know what happened. So there’s a lot of fallout with who knows what.
Winona Ryder’s character Joyce Byers has a new boyfriend:
We have [actor] Sean Astin… he’s Winona’s new boyfriend — much to the chagrin to the Chief of Police.
Natalia Dyer’s Nancy Wheeler will offer some new details on her most-beloved friend, Barb:
The question and the feelings that Nancy has that no one ever cares about her friend Barb, are very much present in the beginning of the season.
And according to Levy, season two is even more sinister than its predecessor:
Season 2 is bigger and potentially darker in its stakes. The threat, which in Season 1 was to Will Byers, has grown. That’s all I’m going to say! But, I will say Season 2 has a bigger cast and is definitely loyal to the kind of magical storytelling that we established in the first season. It’s character-based and still about our core group of characters.
There is no official word yet on a release date for season two, but expect new episodes to emerge sometime in 2017.
