Francesco Risso’s latest work for Marni might not be suited towards satisfying everybody’s tastes, but you definitely can’t fault him for a lack of originality. Judging by the statements he made during the showcase, there was definitely a method to the madness for Risso as well.

“It’s when you see a person on the street and you think, ‘Wow, what’s happening there?,’ but through the vision of a child,” explained Risso. “Like a child on a computer tapping one plus one; it’s like announcing the vulnerability that you want to bring ahead to your adulthood.” An exercise in unabashed experimentation, Risso’s fall 2017 collection for Marni might be one of the label’s most unique modern efforts yet. When it comes to priorities, creativity appears to reign supreme for Risso and company.
