Watch a Hydraulic Press Turn 20 Rolls of Toilet Paper Into a Skateboard
Do not try this at home, kids.
Hydraulic press videos are strangely relaxing and addictive, and it’s hard to say why: maybe it’s because there’s nothing more satisfying than watching something get crushed with ease by a machine. Sometimes, however, the press can be used to create, rather than destroy. Case in point: the above video, wherein a hydraulic press is used to smush 20 rolls of toilet paper into a skateboard in a feat of modern alchemy.
The average skateboard is built out of seven to nine plies of wood, so turning a pulpy mass like toilet paper into something akin to plywood is no easy feat. The resultant skateboard is flimsy and janky, but it does the job. Watch above and stay tuned to Beyond the Press when he submits the skateboard to Braille Skateboarding for testing.
