Sneaker Freaker Teams up With BespokeIND to Create Custom Nike Air Force 1s
Two limited edition pairs entirely handcrafted from AFL footballs.

This past Tuesday, Sneaker Freaker took to Instagram to tease fans with a forthcoming collaboration alongside BespokeIND. The offering sees two limited edition pairs of Nike Air Force 1s that were entirely handcrafted from Sherrin rugby footballs used in the Australian Football League. These customized iterations of the coveted low-top sneaker were completely swathed with black kangaroo leather—touted as being “one of the softest hides in the animal kingdom,” as per Sneaker Freaker.
Not to mention, both pairs contain insoles sculpted from hand-cut vegetable-tanned leather and tongue labels that were laser-etched. Die-hard fans of the AFL will immediately take note of the league’s goal post graphics coupled with a golden “Melbourne Rules” logo that gives a nod to the historic Sherrin game ball makeup. Each shoe took approximately 40 hours to create from start to finish.
Sneaker Freaker founder Simon “Woody” Wood stated:
The shoes are not an official Nike collaboration. They are true ‘one-of-one’ customs made to my personal specification and they will not be available commercially. As you can see, they’re way too good for a game of kick-to-kick at half-time but they are totally wearable – and that’s what I’ll be doing. I ain’t too scared to get ‘em dirty!
