Nike Brings Back the Air Max 96 SE
With the Air Max 95’s tooling, though.

Earlier this summer, Nike’s OG Air Max 96 “Neon” and “Concord” colorways returned in honor of the 20th anniversary of the underrated runner. Now the Swoosh is bringing back an even lesser-known Air Max: the SE version of the 96. Featuring a completely different upper than its predecessor, the 2016 retro of the Air Max 96 SE comes in the shoe’s original combination of navy mesh, white leather and golden accents for an apt throwback to the mid-’90s. Sadly, however, the release — like this year’s other Air Max 96s — eschews the original ‘96 sole unit in favor of Air Max 95 tooling.
While concrete release details are currently unknown, the limited-edition Air Max 96 SE XX should soon be available at select NSW retailers across the globe for $175 USD per pair.
