Union Los Angeles & Komakino Elevate Punk in New Editorial Spread
With references to Lenin and Italian hardcore.
Union Los Angeles’s latest editorial spread puts the spotlight on Komakino, an Italian menswear label that offers premium quality punk-inspired pieces with some heavy political motifs and inspirations. The references throughout range from a defaced head shot of former U.S. President George W. Bush to Lenin’s “What Is To Be Done?” (translated here into Italian as “Che Fare”). There is an oversized hoodie that has been slashed down the middle and stitched to prevent fraying, effectively creating a zipperless zip-up, that references the Contropotere Italian hardcore punk scene. Oversized trench-coats are layered over wool MA-1 jackets for a look that alludes to both military and uniform styles of dress.
