Vetements’ subversive fashion show held at a Parisian department store — during regular operating hours nonetheless — aptly challenged the notion of a traditional collection, from ideation to delivery. Born entirely from brands aside their own, brothers Demna and Guram Gvasalia masterfully pulled off a partnership with long-established companies, challenging them to rework their signature items. As Manolo Blahniks transformed to waist-high boots and Juicy Couture tracksuits revamped to dresses, we took a trip backstage before the satirical pageantry unfolded.
