With recent reports showing that more people use Snapchat than Twitter on a daily basis, it’s wise for the company to make some serious moves. The social media platform recently acquired the 3D face-scanning app Seene and is now giving its Discover page a new facelift. Rather than just seeing brand icons of your popular news sites, you will now encounter robust images of headline previews. It’s akin to Pinterest’s grid style interface and is also scrollable. Of course, the strategy is monetary-driven as the company splits ad revenue from inside Discover channels with their publishers. The eye-catching images should improve clicks and keep users entertained and engaged.
