A Distorted Kate Moss Featured in the adidas Originals "Remember the Future" Video
In celebration of the Gazelle’s comeback.
Digital artist Doug Abraham or bessnyc4 has remixed the likeness of a ’90s Kate Moss in celebration of the adidas Originals Gazelle re-release. The 1993 photo of the young top model wearing suede trainers has been cut, pasted, animated, inverted, and distorted with pop-culture imagery as a symbol of reinvention. The idea is rooted in stealing from the past to create the future – a concept true to both fashion and the Gazelle’s history. First introduced in the ’60s, the Gazelle drifted in and out of different crowds, appealing to those who were part of the mod, reggae, Britpop or even grunge scene. Making its comeback today, it’ll be interesting to see what crowd the classic silhouette appeals to next. Check out the mesmerizing video from adidas Originals above.
