Acclaimed designer Julien David showcases his Spring 2017 collection alongside his women’s collection in Paris. Influenced by ocean waves, in all its colors, shapes and movements, Julien David plays around with patterns and textures. Some standout pieces include a round-shaped smock coat rendered in a cross-dyed tropical wool fabric providing slightly undulating forms as the models briskly marched down the runway. The collection also features a body-hugging cotton-jersey cardigan with matching column skirt and a 3-D zigzag stitching imitating the spikes of wave crests. The standout category, by far, in terms of cuts and textures was the denim. Conjuring a soft variety, bio stonewashed in a palette of rainbow colours in which David used for street-friendly kimono coats. The collection also offers his signature workwear jackets. Take a peek at his Hokusai wave-inspired collection above.
