Dior Homme 2017 Spring/Summer "FUN FAIR" Collection
Kris Van Assche continues with his punk and new wave aesthetic.

Kris Van Assche is back with another Dior Homme collection inspired by the New Wave era that made an impact on his youth. “When I was a kid in Antwerp, we used to love going to the funfair, all these new wave kids, these punk kids,” said the Belgian designer. He erected a “FUN FAIR” for this collection, and maintained his punk/skate aesthetic he’s been pushing for a few seasons now.
Van Assche has long been about contrasts, and bringing old inspirations into modern day by creating interesting mash-ups. By taking Punk, New Wave and sporty influences, the designer’s looks included harnesses, mesh cut outs, studs, and the frayed red thread motif also seen last season. But Van Assche never forgets where Dior Homme’s expertise lies — and that’s in tailored suits. Overall, the collection featured pieces that were both wearable and fun, and will surely continue to please longtime customers while piquing the interests of new buyers.
