Acne Studios 2017 Spring/Summer Collection
The Swedish label transforms a campsite into a wearable collection.

In a bid to imbue “romance [into] a show but without the regular runway thing,” Acne Studio’s Jonny Johansson engineered a curious musical chairs show in the dishevelled interior of the Lycée Charlemagne whereby the models would get up from their chairs every time there was a break in the music, rearranging themselves and sitting back down before the music resumed. They were dressed in what could only be described as tent-like ponchos, which even incorporated metal eyelets for ease of driving pegs through. Johansson was inspired by “the emptiness of the Swedish summer,” creating these tents from fabrics that were laminated, plasticized, bonded, and paired with coated Chelsea boots, surf booties and rubberized Mary Janes in several Glastonbury-ready ensembles. Inherently Swedish, this nostalgic yet functional collection was imprinted with the DNA of Acne Studios through and through.
