David Neville Steps Down as CEO of Rag & Bone
Time for something new.
As Rag & Bone seems to be doing increasingly well, it comes as a surprise to hear CEO, David Neville, announce he is stepping down from his position to pursue other projects. Neville will be no longer be responsible for his day-to-day duties at the company, however, he will remain one of the largest shareholders and keep his seat on the board of directors. His decision coincides with a shift currently happening at the company, with plans to expand. Having always pushed for a more direct-to-consumer approach — something many other brands have struggled with – Rag & Bone is expecting to open more retail stores internationally with locations in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, UAE, Lebanon and Thailand, where there are two stores already.
Neville’s partner since the launch of the brand, Marcus Wainwright, will continue to lead the creative side of the business as CEO, backed by a recently hired roster of impressive senior managers. There have also been casual jokes of business partner, Andrew Rosen, sharing Neville’s now empty desk. As for the former executive, he plans on helping his wife, make-up artist, Gucci Westman, in launching her own skincare brand. He also plans on working with emerging brands, “I’m looking at investing in some fashion brands in the same way Andrew did with us all those years ago… I really enjoy the work that we do with the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. I find it exciting to go in and talk to some of these young brands about where they are and what they’re trying to achieve. I would love be able to give them some guidance the same way Andrew did with us back in 2006.”
