The former Gucci executive joins the Italian luxury house to drive its global lifestyle strategy.
Summary
- Italian luxury house Dolce & Gabbana has officially named Stefano Cantino as its new co-chief executive officer
- The industry veteran will serve alongside current chairman and CEO Alfonso Dolce to support organizational modernization
- Co-founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana will continue to oversee the brand’s overarching creative direction
Dolce & Gabbana‘s executive board is entering a new chapter, with Business of Fashion reporting the official appointment of Stefano Cantino as co-CEO. Marking a significant leadership pivot for the Italian luxury house, the strategic reshuffle is designed to accelerate the company’s long-term goal of evolving from a traditional fashion label into a comprehensive global lifestyle brand.
Working in tandem with Alfonso Dolce — who recently expanded his duties to include the role of chairman — Cantino brings decades of formidable industry expertise to the table. The restructuring follows the resignation of co-founder Stefano Gabbana from the chairmanship last December. Prior to joining the brand, Cantino served as the CEO of Gucci, a position he exited in September 2025. His extensive resume also includes a tenure as senior vice president of communications at Louis Vuitton, as well as a 22-year run at Prada where he navigated various roles across business development, merchandising, marketing, and retail touchpoints.
The organizational transformation reflects an ongoing effort to strengthen the label’s commercial footprint within the highly competitive luxury market. While the corporate structure sees significant modernization, the core aesthetic vision of the house remains undisturbed. The brand has confirmed that both Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana will retain their creative leadership, continuing to shape the distinctive design language and visual identity that define the historic imprint.
