Ann Demeulemeester Samples the Color Red for 2017 Spring/Summer
A departure from the norm, but only in terms of color.
Changing what we’ve come to expect from Ann Demeulemeester ever so slightly, Director Sebastien Meunier focused heavily on navy hues with splashes of blood red for 2017 spring/summer. The shift in color choice did not mean a heavy change to the cuts and silhouettes though — the draped, asymmetric patterns that the Ann brand has come to represent are very much still there. Tailored, military-inspired outerwear walked the runway alongside knitwear with hand-stitched detailing and sheer tops. The message, “I Am Red With Love” was interspersed throughout the collection and was underscored by daring red accents in the footwear and jewelry.
