Saint Laurent Announces Hedi Slimane Exit
For the second time.
Saint Laurent’s creative director Hedi Slimane has reportedly parted ways with the fashion house for a second time. According to Kering, the brand’s parent company, the 47-year-old’s contract as creative and image director expired on Thursday and will not be renewed after a “four-year mission, which has led to the complete repositioning of the brand.” François-Henri Pinault, chairman and chief executive officer of Kering, further said, “What Yves Saint Laurent has achieved over the past four years represents a unique chapter in the history of the house. I am very grateful to Hedi Slimane, and the whole Yves Saint Laurent team, for having set the path that the house has successfully embraced, and which will grant longevity to this legendary brand.”
His successor is widely expected to be Belgian-Italian designer Anthony Vaccarello, who has been honing his craft at Versus Versace, making him only the fourth ready-to-wear designer at YSL. Stay tuned for more information on this story.
