2016's Nike Flyknit Racer "Multicolor" Will Indeed Feature a Grey Tongue
Better or worse?

Last week Nike confirmed 2013’s beloved “Multicolor” edition of the Flyknit Racer would indeed be making its way back to retailers here in 2016. There was one major discrepancy, however, between the pics Nike circulated and those that had previously leaked on social media. While we had thought this year’s version of the shoe would feature a grey tongue to differentiate it from the OG, Nike’s pics showed the shoe with a black tongue — making it a one-to-one remake of the original and leaving fans a bit confused as to what they should expect when the kicks hit retailers next month.
Thankfully, the Swoosh has clarified things a bit and confirmed what we expected all along: the kicks will sport a grey tongue instead of the black that graced the original. Otherwise the multicolored kicks remain true to form as they couple their colorful knit upper with a contrasting white Zoom-cushioned midsole and black hits to the laces, collar, heel pull, midsole top line, rubber outsole and Swoosh.
The 2016 rendition of the Flyknit Racer “Multicolor” officially drops May 13 for $150 USD.
