Garrett Leight's 2016 Spring/Summer Collection Is Equal Parts Playful and Experimental
“We’ve always had a profound respect for those who came before us, but what matters most is how we learned to adapt their vision.”
West Coast eyewear boutique Garrett Leight California Optical (or GLCO, for short) is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, and it’s doing so by paying tribute to the brand’s forefathers and past collaborators while retaining a forward-thinking focus. The brand’s newest collection rethinks the familiar shapes and styles of past collaborator Mark McNairy, while also exploring new and unique colorways on classic frames. The Milwood, Cordova, Dillon, Hampton and Brooks all receive subtle reinventions, including matte finishes, contrasting acetate and leather-wrapped rims. The Hampton and Brooks even have “5 years, homies” stamped on the inner temples, in commemoration of GLCO’s half-decade in business.
The collection goes on sale at garrettleight.com and at select retailers February 5. Until then, flip through the brand’s bright and summery lookbook above and check out its newly-opened SoHo boutique, if you happen to be in New York.
