A Look Inside a Former Nike Designer's Sneaker-Themed Coffee Shop
Coffee and kicks all under one roof.

A sneaker-themed coffee shop isn’t something you see everyday. But former Nike designer Ian Williams is keeping Portland weird with his new DEADSTOCK COFFEE & GALLERY. Originally introduced via a Kickstarter campaign back in 2014 before finally opening its doors on February 3, the 410-square-foot shop is full of kicks and old school Nike posters while offering up the likes of Dapper & Wise Roasters coffee, Maya Tea, chocolates and syrups from PDX’s own Holy Kakow, and dairy-free options from Milkadamia — not to mention custom sneaker-themed items like a “Cement”-inspired espresso tamper, elephant print-adorned apron and various artwork. The shop even offers a bevy of sneaker cleaning services using Crep products.
DEADSTOCK is open now at 408 NW Couch Street near Pensole Design Academy — where Williams also happens to teach a class.
