Nike Hosts an Impressive Foamposite Retrospective With WZK Shanghai
Commemorating the 20th anniversary of the iconic silhouette.

This past November, Nike Sportswear announced its “12 Soles” project that pays homage to signature silhouettes such as the Air Force 1 and Air Max 2 Uptempo, as well as the widely popular Air Foamposite Pro. This time around, the athletic brand has spawned an incredible retrospective with Shanghai-based retailer, WZK, to commemorate the Foams’ forthcoming 20th anniversary in 2017. The exhibition spotlights countless iterations of the plastic-based model, which initially stunned Swoosh enthusiasts back in 1997 with its unconventional design. Classic renditions such as the “Royal Blue” colorway donned by Penny Hardaway are on display as well as limited releases including the “Tianjin” iteration launched in 2015 to celebrate the Year of the Goat.
Accompanying the installation is a special edition Foamposite book that features visuals shot by Instagrammer 3dk129. Only 150 copies will be made available to those who purchase a pair of “Dr. Doom” Foamposites at the exhibit. Take a look at the photos above and learn more about the retrospective here.
