Michael Jordan and the NBA Are Shopping a 10-Hour Documentary on MJ's First Comeback
ESPN’s eight-hour O.J. Simpson documentary inspired Jordan to tell his story.

Word on the street is that the NBA and CAA (Creative Artists Agency) are shopping a 10-hour documentary exploring Michael Jordan’s first comeback. According to Page Six, the producing team is led by Mike Tollin (Radio, Coach Carter, Varsity Blues, 30 for 30) and Peter Guber of Mandalay Sports Media, and has been pitched to ESPN, Showtime, HBO and Fox Sports. Although production has yet to start, the documentary is expected to cover Jordan’s first retirement from basketball, his attempt at a baseball career, the tragic murder of his father, gambling, and his triumphant comeback. Little is known of how it will be presented, but the success of ESPN’s eight-hour O.J. Simpson documentary earlier this year is said to have convinced Jordan to tell his story.
