This past Tuesday, the British Fashion Council and Swarovski announced the nominees for the upcoming 2016 Fashion Awards. Ushering in a more global appeal, there are a total of 1,500 nominations spanning key industry designers, fledgling brands and established labels from approximately 41 countries. One of the new categories to spawn in this revamped occasion is the “International Urban Luxury Brand” bracket. BFC appointed adidas, Gosha Rubchinskiy, OFF-WHITE, Palace and Vetements who are all vying to reign victorious in this modish gauntlet. In regards to the expansive list of nominees, BFC Chairman Natalie Massenet professed:
“The shortlisted nominees prove the incredible talent we are so fortunate to work with both at home and abroad. This year’s ceremony will be thrilling and I look forward to welcoming all our guests to London and to what has become one of the most-anticipated highlights of the global fashion calendar.”
All winners will be unveiled at a fundraiser gala hosted by the British Fashion Council Education Foundation this December 5 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England. To learn more, visit the BFC’s official website here.
