Nike and the City of Portland Present the "BIKETOWN" Bike Share Program
Promoting an active, vibrant and innovative community.
Having been its home base for 40 years, Nike has a strong community connection to the city of Portland, and is partnering with its Bureau of Transportation to bring BIKETOWN, a bike share program. Comparable to New York City’s very own Citi Bike, the goal of this version is simple: get active. The $10 million USD plan will increase the number of bikes in the program from 600 to 1,000. Beyond the monetary contribution, Nike will be responsible for the visual bike identity and BIKETOWN stations — the Nike Orange-hued bikes will feature reflective gray tape and Swoosh, PDX and BIKETOWN logos throughout. The program is scheduled to launch in July.
