After teasing the partnership just last week, Bodega and adidas kick off the week in stellar form, crashing the sneaker market with a near-perfect iteration of the ZX Flux. The strength of the collaboration, which is simply dubbed the ZX Flux BDGA, is grounded in the concept. The Boston retailer and German sportswear behemoth drew inspiration from Stanley Kubrick’s iconic 2001: A Space Odyssey film, playing off of the color palette of supernova reds, orange bursts and cautionary yellow. All this is illustrated across a black woven nylon base, which is interrupted at the tongue and heel stabilizer by rarely-seen suede leather. The inventive use of upscale materials continues through the interior lining with a leather collar, while detailing at the heel pull, speckled off-white midsole and outsole wrap up this far out release. Pick up the Bodega x adidas Consortium ZX Flux BDGA at No.42 Paris, No.74 Berlin and selected Consortium retailers – Barney’s New York, Addict, Shoe Gallery, St. Alfred and WISH amongst them – beginning July 24. A preliminary release will precede that at Bodega on July 18.
