NikeCourt Flare "White"
Inspired by the collection of KOBE signature shoes, Nike releases Serena William’s on-court kicks to the public.

Having issues rolling her ankle, star tennis player Serena Williams found that her on-court kicks weren’t giving her enough support to perform her best. So in response to this rare moment of vulnerability from the 20-time major singles champion, Nike specifically designed a pair of shoes for Williams that offered her utmost stability. Inspired by the collection of KOBE signature shoes, head designer Aaron Cooper needed to convince Williams that more stability isn’t necessarily a result of a bulkier shoe. Instead, she needed less structure with something less built with a lower profile. The result is a flexible shoe with a neoprene cuff, providing a skin-like fit that promotes natural foot motion. Named the NikeCourt Flare, the shoes are available to the public now in an all-white colorway at NikeCourt retailers and online at Nike.com.
