Kanye West Designed a Book Cover
For ‘Sandcastle Kings,’ by Rich Wilkerson Jr.

Another day, another Kanye West endeavor. For his latest venture, West designed the book cover for Sandcastle Kings, written by Rich Wilkerson, Jr. Wilkerson, Jr. is a pastor and personal friend of the Wests, who performed the ceremony for Kim and Kanye’s wedding. Returning the favor, Kanye designed a simple and minimalist cover for Wilkerson, Jr.’s debut book, which “uses a passage in Luke to talk about faith and Jesus, and how there are things – self, others, religion, and the world – that can get in the way of your faith.” The cover features a calligraphic typeface spelling out “SK” with book details in small print. On why Kanye was the perfect choice, he says, “I know Kanye as my friend; we talk about Jesus. And that’s the whole point: God doesn’t care about scandals; he cares about people. So it makes sense for Kanye to design the book cover. It makes a statement.” Not only that, but West owns DONDA, a content, experience and product company that made this venture even easier. Check out the book at Amazon, retailing for $16 USD.
