'Hitman' E3 Announcement Trailer
Agent 47 makes his triumphant return.
Danish developer and Square Enix imprint Io-Interactive has taken the wraps off of its long-awaited next-gen Hitman game. The first Hitman release for consoles since 2012’s polarizing Hitman: Absolution, the new entry — simply dubbed Hitman to mark a new beginning for the franchise and a foundation for future installments — in the creative stealth-action series sees players taking control of Agent 47 at the absolute peak of his powers with a central premise in mind: that of “a pure assassination fantasy.” As an operative of the International Contract Agency, 47’s job will be to once again take out high-profile targets all over the world, with longtime handler Diana Burnwood returning in support.
Completely revamped with Io’s new Glacier engine and promising a “living sandbox” where “every NPC has a name and every room matters,” Hitman will launch December 8 with a PlayStation 4-exclusive beta before officially launching for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2016.
