On Sunday morning, Taylor Swift published an open letter to Apple Music, criticizing the company for not paying artists during the service’s three-month free trial period. She proclaimed that she will not be putting her music on the platform, in support of the new artists that need the money to sustain their careers. Later that day, Apple senior executive Eddy Cue took to Twitter to announce a revisal in its policy: Apple Music will now be paying artists during the trial period.
