The Apple Watch Has Been Hiding a Secret Charging Port

The Apple Watch was released to much fanfare a few weeks ago, but only now are more details emerging about a potential secret charging port. While many owners may not have gotten around to changing their bands yet, the magnetic locking technique that allows you to exchange bands actually hides a secret port. Apple hasn’t said anything about the port (or what it’s used for), but third party company Reserve Strap has claimed that the port can be used for powering the device. Although the port is covered, it’s visible in plain sight, and Reserve Strap has designed a band that uses the port to charge the watch. Reserve Strap’s $250 USD charging device offers a slick option for when your watch is low on juice and you’re on the go. Check out the product on its site, but be wary of strapping third-party items to your wrist, especially since Apple hasn’t vetted the port for charging purposes.
