Media conglomerate Condé Nast has revealed that it will launch its long-awaited e-commerce venture later on in the year under the existing Style.com banner. According to reports by Business of Fashion, the fashion news website will be transformed into a global e-commerce destination in an ambitious attempt to gain a foothold in the $1.5 trillion USD global online market. Fans of Style.com need not to fear, as the fashion news and runway coverage will be moved to voguerunway.com, under the Vogue U.S. brand. Condé Nast will pour in an estimated $100 million USD into the new entity over the next couple of years, which will be headquartered in London’s Camden area. The new site will carry between 100 and 200 brands catered towards a high-end market, in addition to gadgets, beauty, gifts and arts goods reflecting the media giant’s diverse portfolio of brands. Stay tuned for more coverage on this story.
