Anyone can customize a piece of footwear but few have the eye and attention to detail for a perfect execution. Mark Ong, better know as SBTG, has been leading the line in custom sneaker work for many years. His meticulous nature in the craft has transformed mere sneakers into pieces of art. Drawing inspiration from military themes and punk rock, Ong has created a signature aesthetic that brings together polarizing accents.

Here, we offer a glance at the Singaporean artist’s latest work for HYPEBEAST. Using the popular Nike Air Huarache as the base, this “AWOL Camo” rendition features an upper of olive-green with intricately crafted panels of camouflage, signature to SBTG’s inspirations. The shoe then rests atop a white midsole and black outsole, while notable touches include a custom tongue label and special box that also has a unique camera strap within, featuring the same camo motifs.

Enjoy the images above and keep an eye out for the sneakers to release on April 30 at the HYPEBEAST Store for $500 USD.
