Lucky for him, West will soon be receiving an honorary doctorate from School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Shortly after an interview with the Clique where Ye said he wish that he would’ve had attended SAIC, Dean of Faculty and Vice-President of Academic Administration Lisa Wainwright reached out to West. In a letter to the SAIC community, Wainwright shares that “influential individuals earned this distinguished award through their work, which is always imaginative and aesthetically rich, and sometimes provocative and controversial, shifting the cultural landscape in significant ways.” The commencement ceremony will take place on May 11, after that you might have to address Yeezy as Dr. Kanye West.
