Joywave featuring Mick Jenkins & Little Simz - Bad Dreams

NY quintet Joywave call upon Mick Jenkins and Little Simz for their latest single. “Bad Dreams” is the latest song released by the group in support of their forthcoming LP, How Do You Feel Now?, which is expected to hit retailers on April 21. Joywave members Sean Donnelly and Daniel Armbruster tell FADER they were made aware of Mick Jenkins through a mutual friend, who let both of them hear Jenkins’ stellar Water[s] standout “Martyrs.” When it came time to put the finishing touches on the song, the group had the instrumental portion of “Bad Dreams” done, and the decision for Mick Jenkins to contribute a verse to the track came as a “no-brainer.” After lacing the song with a Mick Jenkins verse they sought out, an “unexpected” bit of heat came when Little Simz decided to spit some bars over the song. The end product: the “Bad Dreams” in the player above.
