Awards season usually wraps up with the Oscars, but the Brandcameo Product Placement Awards has a few last statues to hand out, and these aren’t for achievements in acting or movie production. For the past 15 years, Brandcameo has tracked product placement and brand appearances in all the #1 films of the year. This year, Apple came out on top in the category of Overall Product Placement, being featured in 9 of the 35 #1 films of 2014. And the most product placements in a single film? That distinguished honor went to Michael Bay’s blockbuster Transformers: Age of Extinction, which reportedly featured 55 brands. This seems to be Bay’s sweet spot, as he also won in 2014 for Pain & Gain (39 product placements) and in 2011 for another Transformers installment, Dark of the Moon (71 placements).
