Jordan Brand is celebrating its 30th anniversary with the relaunch of the Air Jordan 10 Retro “Double Nickel.” The story goes, just five games into his return from early retirement, Michael Jordan stepped into Madison Square Garden sporting the number 45 and a pair of player exclusive white, black and red Air Jordan 10s. That night, His Airness silenced all doubts surrounding his play as he torched the New York Knicks for 55 points. This re-release is a homage to that game and its host city.
The sneaker itself is constructed with a white leather upper, black outsole, trim and laces, and red accents found on the inner lining and throughout the bottom of the outsole, which lists many of MJ’s greatest milestones. Additional features include a “45” embroidery and a special Air Jordan Collection patch on the inside of the tongue.
